your true love gave to you a picture of a tortured two year old on Santa's lap. Who doesn't enjoy punishing our children and making them suffer to recieve more than a lump of coal for Christmas? We tried hard to talk it up, we sang Breah's fave song, "Santa Clause is coming to town" while in line, and she told us she was going to tell Santa she wanted " 'Up,' Graces favorite one" (She watched "Up" at Grace's house while we went out for our anniversary), but when it came down to it, Santa was more fun from a distance. My mom was kind enough to remind me that at least Breah's fear of strangers hasn't gotten her banned from anything yet (yes, that would be me as a two year old, banned from dentists, WIC offices, and photo studios to name a few). But Breah enjoyed her candy cane down to the last lick, so it wasn't all bad. And to top it off, it was snowing when we left the ward Christmas party. So all day yesterday we sang "Santa Clause is coming to church" and "it's snowing, it's blowing, Breah is growing." And today, being the first day of Christmas, I'm excited to say, it really is beginning to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas!

Start singing Santa Clause is coming to gramndma Nellies and we'll see you soon--we have tons of snow to mow through too, bring the mower we need all the help we can get!
ReplyDeleteAt least she got the candy cane. When Kenzie found out our Santa was giving away coloring books instead of candy canes--she had NO interest in sitting on his lap either. :) I guess we know what motivates her....
