Almost Mermaids!

As I mentioned before, living in a hotel does have it's perks.  We are currently a one car family, so if we have no plans for the day, we spent the majority of it in the pool while Dad is at work.  It's so hot here that really that's all you want to do anyway, so we are enjoying it while we can.  The first day we spent most of our time on the stairs with no floaties, but quickly became frustrated with that limitation.  So the next day we purchased a PuddleJumper life jacket for Breah, and a little floaty for Tayven.  The PuddleJumper was worth every penny, but nothing will keep Tayven in the pool.  He just wants to be independant, so he does everything he can to get away from me, which usually means he has to get out and run around for a few minutes, then he'll try and jump around me to get in on his own.  One lady keeps telling me I just have to let him learn, but I prefer to err on the side of caution and catch him before he drowns.

This was Tay's floaty, which was always more fun outside of water.  He hates it.  We ended up trading a friend for a boat that their baby was too small for, but Tay still prefers to be free.

As you can see, Breah is getting more and more comfortable/confident in the water.  She blows bubbles under water, can swim from one end to the other, and loves to jump off the side and go under  the water.  She does a mean belly flop too!    It's been fun to watch her improve every day.  And actually, after almost 3 weeks Tayven is finally figuring out that the only way he's going to swim is with one of us, and will spend more time actually in the water.  He is still fearless and will just walk off the edge, so we have to constantly predict where he's going to jump.  The pool has been too crowded the past couple days so we are hoping it's a little more quiet around here next week.

(this is the new boat, Breah pretends it her car to drive to her Grandma's house, "You know, my old grandmas, Grandma Nellie and Grandma Nancy, who live in Utah"--Don't worry G's, we won't replace you with new grandmas!)

Breah's latest obsession is picking at the skin on her feet.   Yesterday she'd run out and said to me, "I guess we need to go swimming some moreso I can get some more skin!"

  1. Hey just caught up on you and all your fun. I love that Breah loves the hotel, she says the funniest things and it's fun to read all that you written. We miss you! Still feels like you are here sort of, just over there got a little further away. Good luck on moving in the house soon!
