Christmas

It seems like it's been forever, but I can't not share our Christmas! We spent a lot of our Christmas vacation in the car, but it was worth it to be able to spend time with both sides of the family. We started out Wednesday afternoon and headed to AF for a party with the Dansie side. The kids made graham cracker houses, we had a nice dinner, a nativity, and then of course there were presents. Breah got an easel from G&G and some fun food for her kitchen from Brett's family. Brandon got the best gift of all--Santa finally brought him the Teddy Ruxpin he asked for many years ago. We were all spoiled, including Baby Bro, who got a nice soft blankie from the grands.
Then Christmas Eve we woke up and headed to the big V. Brandon and I were really hoping Santa would give Breah a DVD player for the car so we enjoyed what we hoped would be the last long journey of entertaining the Bre-ster the whole way, but she was so exhausted from the night before she slept most of it anyway (that never happens...). That night we had a nice dinner at my dad's then came home and let the girls play and played games until Kyndi's fam had to go.
Christmas morning I woke up all excited and rearing to go while my family snoozed on. I finally made Brandon get up at 7:30 and we proceeded to persuade Breah out of bed with promises of presents and candy. Santa must have got the message that we were staying in Vernal as we were all spoiled once again (even if the elf in charge of Dad's stocking lost most of the stuffers!). We had so much fun spoiling each other but I think we learned a valuable lesson this year when all Breah cared about was her Tinkerbell nightlight and the green candies (all sh
e asked santa for was a present and green candy--luckily she got both). It took her all day to open her presents. She had to play with each one before moving on and when we'd try to get her to open another
one she'd say, "No, I hab one." She really got the hang of the whole present thing by the end of the weekend though, since at every house we visited she'd get more.
We went to visit my G&G Christmas morning but poor Breah was plum exhausted and slept the whole time we were there. We finally had to wake her up to go to the movie--which by the way could possibly be one of Breah's favorite activities, not because of the movie, but because she loves her some popcorn. She sat there with the bucket in her lap the whole time, just as happy as could be. You can't say the word "movie" without producing some asap. Saturday we headed to Bountiful for the Martin party, which was a blast as usual. Breah got another train set from the cousin exchange and we had yummy food and treats and quality time with the fam. We stopped at Grandma & Grandpa's in AF for the final leg of our journey and by sunday were all exhausted and ready to be home.
